A Better Way

Over 13 years at Jaguar Land Rover I've been personally involved in dealer systems integration and have pretty deep expertise in this area through hands on experience. I've been responsible for a number of projects and have the scars to show for it.

Through the years I've talked to a lot of people on this topic and more recently I've gained even further perspective through my involvement in STAR. It seems many automakers suffer from all the same kinds of problems and challenges I saw. Projects took longer than planned, testing was challenging, never enough resources to do too many manual tasks and on and on.

I came across Motive Retail last summer and was immediately struck, they get it. Their approach toward testing particularly hit a chord. Motive provides online testing tools for the DSP to use which help them test their interfaces during their development and QA process. Further, they automate much of the Certification Testing so that DSPs receive instantaneous test case results and OEM involvement is dramatically reduced. With the Motive Integrator portal, everything from specifications to testing to interface activation is online and supported through apps designed specifically for this purpose. In my estimation, their approach saves time, as much as 50% compared with the "traditional" way I tackled these projects.

We've brought Motive Retail in to help work on our dealer systems integration strategy and look forward to working with them for years to come.
